So the Parasyte anime is finally upon us after nearly 25 years since the manga originally began.
Now I know that many fans have complained about the differences between the manga and anime but I think that the anime does a good job of capturing the spirit of the manga quite nicely.
Probably the most controversial decision by Madhouse on the adaptation is the glasses that Shinichi now wears.
As a fan of the manga for quite some time now I can say that I am really enjoying the anime so far and look forward to what lies ahead.
Also I must say the opening theme is just kick-ass
Lets have this thread be for discussion of the series and each episode as it comes out.
The series is streaming on Crunchyroll every Thursday so watch it there if you haven't done so yet.
Thoughts on this awesome series?

I like the soundtrack, I'll say that much. Really into the dubstep.
I'm liking the blood and gore too. it's really the only reason I picked up the series and it has yet to disappoint.
Two eps in and kicking arse!

Personally I'm really intrigued to see how this adaptation will handle the character of Gotoh, one of the most memorable villains in manga I've ever seen. Considering Madhouse is handling the adaptation I have faith they will do him justice.

I haven't read the manga but I'm loving the anime. Anything a bit dark is intriguing to me anyway and I love some of the visuals we've seen so far. Very nice to have a good mix of comedy in there too, I had a few giggles with the second episode. And yes, OP is awesome!

I think that is what makes Parasyte so special, it's dark themes with a underlying sense of humour really makes for a bizarre yet winning combination!

Oh yeah, definitely. I thought Tokyo Ghoul was going to be a heaps memorable dark Anime but it didn't get to that until the very end of the season. Parasyte was basically instant and that rocks.

It's always nice when an anime hits it out of the park from the get go. Curious what do you anime only viewers think is coming next for the series?

Tokyo Ghoul was my biggest disappointment for last season, it was so hard for me to finish because I just didn't care at all.
As for Luke's question of what's coming next for Parasyte...hmm...I really have no idea. Does he join some kind of secret organisation with other people who haven't been completely taken over to hunt down the ones who are no longer human?
Whatever happens, if the quality stays as good as these first eps, it's going to be amazing.

It's definitely shaping up to be an awesome series. Also the way that the parasites really only take over the head makes it way creepier than if they consumed the whole body. Who thought body snatchers could get any more unsettling?

I just watched ep 3. I know it's early days but I love this character ^^ I'm still intrigued by the overall plot of this, and what will come next - and I hope she has a decent part in it.

Just watched episode 3 myself. Really pleased with the portrayal of Tamiya Ryoko. She will definitely play a big role don't you worry about that. I really can't wait until the series gets into some of its darkest story terrain. I think that episode 6 is going to be a big one, so keep an eye on that one. As for this episode, it is good to see more of the Parasites entering the fray and A-san is definitely a very frightening combatant for Shinichi and Migi. That was one hell of a cliffhanger to end on I must say.

It's the second episode I've had this week to end on a cliffhanger like that - so much anticipation for next week!
A-san is a brilliant character for showing how creepy the parasites can be. That scene in the cafe where his head just started peeling off to fight...a very memorable visual. I'm glad to hear that it's going to get darker.
