Official discussion thread for the awesome musical romance anime series Your Lie in April.
The series is currently streaming on Crunchyroll and follows a teenage romance between classical musicians.
I get a bit of a Kids on the Slope vibe from the series and considering how much I adored that series, I definitely mean that as a big compliment to Your Lie in April.
The latest episode which featured the manic pixie dream girl's unconventional performance was a beautiful episode to say the least.
Lets discuss the series here with each passing episode. Your Lie in April is something special, that's for sure.

Such a solid start for this anime! I'm being drawn into that classical world and wishing I could play the violin, just like a had a while back watching Kiniro no Corda: Blue Sky.
Except this has such beautiful animation (love all the cherry blossom petals floating around) as well as beautiful music. And more of a plot, not just a music competition here.

Yeah this is definitely one series to keep watching. The animation, the story, the music, the direction, all absolutely superb. I'm curious where this relationship will head. It looks as though it may be a friendzone kind of thing, which I'm not entirely against, but kind of wish wouldn't be the case here. Interested to see what lies ahead for these young musicians.

What are your thoughts on this series now?
I'm a little behind, I've just watched episode 11 this morning - and the reason I'm behind...I've lost a lot of interest in this. And it makes me sad because the first few episodes were SO good.
But I'm not into Arima at all, so all this time devoted to his mother issues etc, I just can't care. And it's stopping the music. Of all the music anime I've watched, this one has the least amount of music being played. Of course, the end of episode 11 shows a possible road this show is taking, and if this ends badly/sadly, around the best character of the entire show, then I'm going to be really angry and disappointed.
I really hope things pick up again, or I might not even make it to the end.

I definitely feel a lull in the series. It's going a little too far from its stronger elements (the music) and I'm concerned it may not make it back. Here's to hoping things improve.
